Sunny Days and Missing Wings

After several consecutive rainy days, the sun is shining once again! While I’m thankful for the rain, sunny days make me feel energized and happy. There’s a joke around here in the South—if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes and it will change. That’s certainly true! Cloudy days followed by sunny ones remind me that the sun, hidden by clouds, is a lot like God—you can’t always see Him, but He’s always there.

Well, I’ve definitely been productive today. I’ve been busy filling custom orders. But, because one of my very favorite hobbies is eating (right behind crafts, of course), I started the day with a hearty breakfast:

Okay, maybe this isn’t the healthiest way to start my day, but it sure put a smile on my face!

So, wanna see what I made today???? Do ya????? Mmmmkay.

I made a Sterling Silver necklace for a friend's granddaughter who happens to love horses. . .

A flower hair clip and bow to match a friend's daughter's Easter dress. . .

Lots of Golden Snitch necklaces for my geeky Harry Potter friends (I'm not hatin'--I love HP too!). . .

Funny story (depending on the way you look at it)--I went outside to spray a clear coat on the "snitch wings" today. I had the wings on a paper plate, put them on my patio, sprayed them, and left them there to dry. It has been pretty windy, so when I went back to get the wings I wasn't surprised to see the plate blown against the fence and the wings on the patio. I took the wings inside and began working on constructing the necklaces. After making the fourth of fifth necklace, I realized I was missing some wings. What the what?? I figured they must have blown away. I went outside to look for them and couldn't find them anywhere. I then looked up and noticed a mockingbird in the tree above me--the tree where he happens to live. I didn't see him take them, but I have a feeling that his nest is decorated with wings, which is ironic when you think about it. Maybe he was offended by them?? Anyway, I'm going to have to make a trip back to the craft store to pick up some more wings unless he decides to return them. Bummer.

Headbands!!! One of my favorite things to make!

And that's it--for now! I just might crank out some more crafts in a while, ya never know.

I'm curious--what have YOU made or done today? Did you April Fool prank anyone? Tell me about it!

  1. Mmmmm...let's see. I spray painted several frames, made LOTS of flowers that will go on tutus, hairbands and hair clips in the future, and made a few pairs of earrings. In between crafting, I vacuumed, cleaned the toilets, did a load of laundry and washed and refilled the bird feeder. Now I'm about to cook supper. YES, I said COOK! (not an April Fool joke )

  2. You have been busy! I did manage to make a bracelet after work. I bet that bird has lots of treasures up there. Around here, if something is missing, there's a good chance Miss Bella has it. That girl, I mean dog, loves bling!
