I'm in love with Anthropologie.
What I'm not in love with, however, are their outrageous prices.

This little jewel can be yours for a mere $298. What the what???
Okay, I love the necklace and all, but you have got to be kidding me!!
If you smell a knockoff project in the air, your sniffer has not deceived you, my friends. Yesiree, I'm gonna show you how to make a nifty Anthro-Inspired necklace on the cheap. Here goes nothin'. . .
First, you'll need two lengths of chain--one approx. 28 inches and one approx. 14 inches. You can adjust the chain length and color to fit your preference. I happen to like longer necklaces, and I used a burnished gold chain for this project. You will also need an assortment of charms, jump rings, and jewelry tools for attaching the charms to the chain.
This is how you do it, do it (insert "The Sprinkler" dance here). . .
Okay, back to the project. . .
And eventually, you'll get something like this:
Have fun with this, Peeps! : )

ReplyDeleteSouthern Scraps, the necklace was pretty easy, but I didn't say it wasn't time-consuming. Let's just say a spent a lot of time with my jump rings and jewelry tools when making it! Hee hee. . . ; )
ReplyDeleteAnel, thanks for the compliment! I love re-creating stuff--especially expensive stuff that I would never think of buying. I sort of get a kick out of it! : ) Thanks for following!
ReplyDeleteI love it, I want it. I am not even a gold jewelry person and I want it! Thanks for sharing at Beyond The Picket Fence.
ReplyDeleteBecky, I'm like you-I didn't wear gold jewelry for a long time. I suppose I'm branching out in my old age! Hee hee. Thanks for hosting a great linky party!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Yours turned out great!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a lover of most things Anthropologie as well.
ReplyDeleteYour necklace is great!
This is so cute! And even cuter than the one from Anthro - I feel like I could wear yours without needing to do my neck strengthening exercises (whatever those might be)! : )
ReplyDeletethis is probably the best anthro knockoff i have seen! well done!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is lovely. Hope to see you at My Dream Canvas!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, thanks for the kind words!
ReplyDeleteRobin--yes, I dream about Anthro's stuff. However, my bank account isn't large enough to make those dreams reality. Next best thing? A good knockoff!
Mel--Anthro's is a little overkill. How embarrassing would it be to have to go to the doc with neck pain due to the weight of the necklace?? ; )
AJ--Thanks! I'm blushing! : )
Anu--Thanks so much! I'd love to stop by for a visit!
I love this Sunni! I agree, knock offs are awesome ;) You did a fabulous job! <3
