Make Your Own Rockin' Accessory Organizer! Booyah!

Whew! I've been away from the blog for several days now, and I must say, it's good to be back! If you didn't know already, I'm the Director of Children's Ministries and the church I attend. I've been pretty much consumed with the upcoming end-of-the-year children's choir musical and preparations for summer camp and Vacation Bible School. Whose bright idea was it to plan the major children's ministry events all at one time??? Now that I've got a few spare moments, I thought I'd share with you guys an easy way to organize all of your nifty accessories--ya know, your headbands, hair clips, scarves, belts, etc. Alrighty, peeps--here's the recipe:

This disturbing scene is what inspired this project:

You know how watching the television show "Hoarders" makes you want to clean and organize your house? That is what this picture does for me. Inspired by my chaotic closet? Good. Glad you can benefit from my personal pain. Moving on. . .

Okay, I started with this cute little mirror. . .

I then broke out my wicked-cool paint collection and found these awesome colors!

I worked my mad skills (limited, but mad) and did a dry-brush painting technique. Work it, work it . . .

I mixed the colors along the way, kinda like this:

Now you're gonna need some ribbon. Any color will do. Whatever floats your boat.

DISCLAIMER
Sunni's Side of Life is not responsible for the loss of eyebrows due to the process of heat-sealing and recommends that one's hair does not contain hairspray when conducting this task. That is all.

Now you're gonna cut lots of shorter pieces of ribbon.

So . . . after your ribbon-cutting is done, you should have three 40" pieces, sixteen or more 4" strips, and eight or ten 8" strips. Get it? Got it? Good.

Continue making your loops and gluing them down on the long piece of ribbon in an overlapping fashion.

Remember earlier when I said to cut three 40" pieces of ribbon?? Well, I ended up using only two of the pieces. But hey, this is your project--use as many as you want!

Now, hang your new accessory organizer in an obvious location in order to make your friends insanely jealous. Just kidding. But seriously, they will be a little jealous!

I'm a-linkin' up here:
